Tein aiemmin keväällä Sitran elämäntapatestin ja olin tuloksesta positiivisesti yllättynyt. Kulutan reippaasti vähemmän kuin keskivertosuomalainen, eli omat ekologiset valintani ovat tuottaneet tulosta. Järkytyin kuitenkin yhdestä omasta vastauksestani.
Testissä kysyttiin kuinka paljon aikaa vietän suihkussa viikottain. Vaihtoehdot olivat noin 30, 60 tai 120 minuuttia. Rehellinen vastaukseni oli tuo viimeinen eli suurin määrä. Noin 120 minuuttia suihkussa nostivat muutoin alhaisena pysyvää hiilijalanjälkeäni.
Tein päätöksen: pyrin pääsemään alle 30 suihkuminuuttiin viikossa. Tavoitteeseen päästäkseni saisin käyttää suihkuun noin 4 minuuttia päivässä.

Päivä 2: 3,54
Päivä 3: 6,40
Päivä 4: 3,18 ja 3,35
Päivä 5: 2,58

Viikon suihkuminuutit yhteensä: 35,9 min
Ensimmäinen viikko meni siis niukasti yli 30 minuutin, mutta aivan huomattavaa parannusta tuohon 120 minuuttiin, minkä arvioin aluksi olevan lähimpänä totuutta. Toki tätä tulosta vääristää se, että kellottaessani suihkun kestoa olen automaattisesti nopeampi kuin muuten. Veden säästämisen kannalta lopputulos on kuitenkin sama syystä huolimatta. Usein nämä ajat ovat myös muutamia sekunteja oikeaa aikaa pidempiä, sillä suihkun sulkemisesta ajastimen pysäyttämiseen kestää hetki.

Toisella viikolla onnistuin! Laskin kummastakin viikosta ensi kertaa tulokset nyt, kun en ole enää muutamaan viikkoon kellottanut. Mahtavaa siis nähdä, että pääsin alle 30 suihkuminuuttiin.
Rakastan pitkiä suihkuja ja olenkin aikamoinen vedellä lutraaja. Nuo lyhyet suihkut tuntuivat joskus todella lyhyiltä, mutta toisaalta siellä suihkussa ei tarvitse lämmitellä ja haaveksia, vaan puhdistaa itsensä. Myös suihkun laittaminen kiinni pesuaineiden levittämisen ajaksi pienensi suihkuaikaa reippaasti.
Suihkussa viivyttelyllä on yllättävän iso merkitys omaan hiilijalanjälkeen, ja suosittelenkin jokaista ottamaan rehellinen katsaus omaan suihkussa käyntiinsä. Mulle on aina opetettu, että suihku suljetaan pesuaineiden levittämisen ajaksi vettä säästääkseen, mutta näin omista asioista päättävänä aikuisena tykkäsin silti lotrailla vettä.
Kellottamisen lopetettuani olen ottanut pari pidempää suihkua, mutta muuten edelleen jatkanut nopeammalla linjalla. Ennen saatoin olla suihkussa ihan huvikseen puolikin tuntia, mutta nykyään puhutaan ennemmin minuuteista kuin kymmenistä minuuteista.
Haastakaa tekin pienentämään suihkuminuuttienne viikkomäärää ja kertokaa, miten onnistuitte!
Tuo kuulostaa aina niin hassulta, että joku viettää oikeesti vaikka puolituntia suihkussa 😀 Mulle suihkussa käynti on vain yksi arjen velvollisuuksista, jonka teen aina niin nopeasti kuin mahdollista, että pääsee tekemään muita juttuja!
